Save Our Sea Lion

In harsh winter storms early on January 8th, Sausalito’s Sea Lion sculpture was knocked from it’s rock mount and lay damaged in the rocky intertidal zone off of the Bridgeway Ave. waterfront path.

As the official stewards of the sculpture, the Sausalito Foundation is spearheading a fundraiser to make the necessary repairs to the sculpture, and replace it on its rightful perch at the water’s edge. Repairs will include patching cracks in the Sea Lion’s body, fabricating a robust bronze pedestal, and installing anodes to prevent corrosion. Estimates for this work, and the costs involved in logistics and labor to place the statue now stand at $50,000.

The Sausalito Foundation needs your help to Save Our Sea Lion. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to our restoration efforts. As a symbol of thanks and appreciation, early donors who contribute $250 or more will receive a Sea Lion Miniature hand-crafted in collaboration with Heath Ceramics.
